Is this the new 2D Metroid we've been waiting for? Or is it an entirely new Metroid altogether? Time will tell. I'm hoping for the best and am excited regardless. I hope it's not like Hunters or anything.

It's definitely not 2D, the trailer showed lots of 3D gameplay. Looks like it may have some (not in morph ball) 2D segments though.

It pretty much something different. It's like Metroid meets Ninja Gaiden.
